Our admissions process ensures The Nurture Nest is the right setting for your child and that we can provide an environment where they can thrive. In line with our Admissions Policy, we meet and assess all children before enrolment to ensure we can meet their needs and provide an enabling environment for growth.

How it works

  1. Visit us

Come to a free Stay & Play (Mondays 10:00–11:30) or book a tour by WhatsApp or phone.

  2. A conversation

We talk with you about your child’s history, needs and personality.

  3. Play-based observation

Observations and informal play-based interactions in our rooms, at your child’s pace.

  4. Existing reports

We review any professional reports you already have, such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy or an EHCP, and use the Early Years Outcomes and the Progress Check at 2 to identify developmental stages.

  5. Your child’s plan

Following assessment we develop personalised SMART goals and next-step targets using the Assess, Plan, Do, Review model from the SEND Code of Practice 2015.

  6. Registration

Confirm sessions in writing, pay the £75 registration fee and agree a start date. Funded hours and the SEND Specialist Support Fee are explained in writing so there are no surprises.

What you will need

  • A copy of your child’s red book (health record)
  • Any health needs, allergies or dietary requirements
  • Funding codes if you are using 15 or 30 funded hours
  • Any existing SALT, OT, paediatrician or EHCP paperwork (optional but helpful)

Questions parents ask

Do you need a diagnosis to join?

No. Many children join us with emerging needs, a speech delay or simply because their parents want a calmer, better-staffed setting. We assess every child so we can plan properly, not to gate-keep.

Can my child start with a few sessions?

Children settle at their own pace. Eventually children are registered for a minimum of two full days or three half-day sessions a week, which gives the consistency young children need.

Do you accept children from outside Ealing?

Yes. Families come from Hounslow, Hillingdon and Hammersmith as well as Ealing. Funded hours are claimed through the borough you live in; ask us and we will walk you through it.

Is there a waiting list?

We opened in January 2026 and places are limited by our 1:3 ratio. Message us on WhatsApp for current availability.
