Zoe Horan, co-founder of The Nurture Nest

Zoe Horan

BA (Hons) Early Childhood Care and Education

Zoe has worked for the London Borough of Ealing for over 10 years in front-facing roles supporting children and families, bringing a wealth of experience and strong local knowledge. As part of the SEND and Inclusion Team she has worked closely within the community as well as across schools and early years settings. Zoe has supported SENCOs and families throughout the early years sector, helping them navigate complex systems around care and education, while also training practitioners to make appropriate referrals and develop effective, child-centred support plans. Zoe is passionate about inclusive, early support and is committed to ensuring children and families feel guided, understood and empowered throughout their journey.

Michaela Horan, co-founder of The Nurture Nest

Michaela Horan

BA Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Practice

Michaela brings a wealth of experience in supporting neurodivergent children and those with SEND. She began her career as a 1:1 classroom support worker and progressed to Kings Trust Lead within an Inclusion Unit, gaining invaluable hands-on experience working with children from nursery through to secondary school. This has given her a deep understanding of transitions and the importance of nurturing independence and emotional wellbeing from the very earliest stages. Michaela is passionately child-centred and consistently places each child's needs, wellbeing and potential at the heart of everything she does.

Leanne Mooney, co-founder of The Nurture Nest

Leanne Mooney

Primary Teacher PGCE, specialising in SEN

Leanne is a fully qualified specialist teacher with a PGCE in Special Educational Needs and over a decade of experience working in SEN and SEMH schools. Her previous roles led her to develop and lead a nurture unit focused on early intervention within a specialist school, creating an alternative provision for children who were unable to thrive in mainstream settings. Through this work Leanne supported children and families through the EHCP process, ensuring each child could access provision that truly met their needs and enabled them to reach their full potential. Early intervention and inclusive, child-centred practice remain at the heart of Leanne's passion and work.

Our wider team

Every practitioner at The Nurture Nest is SEND-trained, holds an enhanced DBS check and Paediatric First Aid certification, and completes annual safeguarding and Prevent training. Our three designated safeguarding leads follow Ealing Local Authority guidance.

We keep the ratio at one adult to every three children at every age, so each key person has the time to observe, listen and really know the children in their care.
