Developmental delay
Global developmental delay
Every little step forward matters. Individual programmes for children developing at their own pace.

When a child is behind in several areas at once, talking, moving, playing, feeding, the label is often global developmental delay. What matters more than the label is a setting that knows exactly where the child is today and plans the next small step. At The Nurture Nest every child follows an individualised programme built from observation, the Early Years Outcomes and the Progress Check at 2, reviewed with you using Assess, Plan, Do, Review.
Targets are small and real: holding a spoon, responding to a name, stacking two blocks, pointing to ask. Our 1:3 ratio means there is an adult to notice and celebrate every one of them.

What parents say
5.0★★★★★Google · 2 reviewsWe honestly couldn't be more impressed with this nursery. It's so refreshing to see a setting that is SEN-focused while being genuinely inclusive and welcoming to every child. It feels like they've created an environment where every child is seen as an individual and their needs are understood and supported. The nursery is exceptionally clean, bright and welcoming, with so much thought put into the imaginative play and activities. What really stands out is the level of one-to-one attention they give to each child.
The facilities at the nurture nest are outstanding! I have been coming to the stay and play for around 6 months with my 2 year old as I was slightly concerned that he was delayed in his speech.
Questions parents ask
Do you take children with Down’s syndrome or genetic conditions?
Yes. Our founders have worked with children across the full range of needs and we plan with the professionals already involved.
How do you measure progress?
Against the Early Years Outcomes and each child’s own targets, shared with you through the EYParent app and termly reviews.
Can my child have 1:1 support?
Our standard ratio is 1:3 and the 1:1 therapy room is used for individual sessions. Tell us what your child needs and we will be honest about what we can provide.
